NIT Warangal Launches M.Tech Programme in AI and Machine Learning from 2026-27 Academic Year

National Institute of Technology Warangal has announced the launch of a new M.Tech specialisation in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning under its Department of Computer Science and Engineering, effective from the 2026-27 academic session. The programme, approved by the Senate and ratified by AICTE, will admit 30 students annually through the GATE examination.

Programme-wise Admission Overview

B.Tech (4 years): Candidates must have completed 12th standard (or equivalent examination) with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as compulsory subjects, with a minimum aggregate score as per category requirements. Admission is solely through JEE Main scores via the JOSAA merit-based seat allocation process. Relaxed cutoff scores apply for reserved category candidates as per national regulations.

M.Tech (2 years): Candidates must hold a Bachelor's degree in Engineering/Technology or a B.Sc degree with relevant qualifications. Admission is based on GATE scores obtained in relevant engineering disciplines. Preference is given to candidates with strong academic records and work experience. Category-based relaxations are applicable as per institutional norms.

MBA (2 years): Bachelor's degree holders from any discipline are eligible to apply. Admission is merit-based through valid entrance examination scores (typically CAT or an institutional entrance exam). Prior work experience may be considered during selection. Reserved category provisions apply in accordance with national policies.

Application Process

• 1 Register on the JEE Main portal and appear for the national entrance examination (typically conducted in January and April by the National Testing Agency)
• 2 Qualify JEE Main and obtain a valid score within the cutoff percentile for NIT admission
• 3 Register on the JOSAA (Joint Seat Allocation Authority) website and fill in your choices of colleges and branches
• 4 Participate in merit-based seat allocation rounds conducted by JOSAA and accept your allocated seat
• 5 Report to NIT Warangal with original documents for verification and complete the registration process
• 6 Pay the required admission fees and secure your seat at the institute
• 7 Report at the designated time for hostel allotment and attendance at the orientation programme
